A seminar entitled The Role of Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) in Implementing Reform of Ukraine’s Energy Sector. Transparency as a Tool for Overcoming Corruption in the Sector and Creating Opportunities for Development of Local Communities was held at the Drohobych Oil and Gas College on 25 January.
Some 80 students and teachers received information at the seminar on the progress in implementation of EITI standard in the Lviv region and other extractive regions of Central and Eastern Ukraine, including, social responsibility of extractive companies before the local communities in whose jurisdictions their extractive operations are conducted.
The event was conducted by the EnergoTransparentnist Association with support from the EITI National Secretariat in Ukraine and the USAID Municipal Finance Strengthening Initiative (MFSI-II) Roll-out Project.
