An awards ceremony of the winners in a competition of student research papers on Results of EITI Implementation in Ukraine and Sound Stewardship of Natural Resources took place in Kharkiv on 21 June.
The event was conducted by the Nova Energia NGO together with the Physics and Energy Department of the Kharkiv V.N. Karazin National University as part of the All-Ukrainian Scientific and Technological Conference: Physics and Technology Problems of Energy Industry and Ways of Their Resolution 2017.
The awards ceremony was attended by the competition winners, University researchers, and representatives of local government. The Director of the Institute for Problems in Machine Building, Yurii Matsevytyi wished further successes to the winners in their research and application endeavors.
The Nova Energia NGO expert Yurii Buts announced the results of the competition and invited the competition winners to make their presentations, based on the results of which the competition committee made their final ranking.
The presented papers covered the following topics: Environmental aspects of the operation of the Shebelynkagazvydobuvannia gas extracting company; certain physical features of geological formations of deposits; SWOT analysis of EITI advantages; problems of energy sector under EITI; environmental impact of extractive industry operations; and efficiency of land management in extractive areas.
