Experts of MFSI-II Project Took Part in a Forum on the Future of E-Government in Ukraine
  The Future of E-Government in Ukraine Forum was held in Kyiv on 9 June 2016.
   More than 200 participants have come together to discuss important issues of e-democracy development in Ukraine.
   The Forum proceedings were attended by: Andrii Parubii, chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine; Dmytro Shymkiv, deputy chairman of the Administration of the President of Ukraine; Deputy Minister of Justice of Ukraine, Giia Getsadze; Deputy Chairman of the State Treasury Service of Ukraine, Oleksandr Hrubiian; representatives from the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine, Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, and the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine.
   The event featured four discussion panels: E-government as an element of transparent governance; Electronic communication between government agencies for improved efficiency of public spending; E-democracy at the local level; and Combating corruption at the local level: Challenges before the civil society.
   Experts of the MFSI-II Project have also joined in the Forum activities. In particular, they took part in discussing the possibilities offered by one of the effective tools of e-government, such as an E-Data official Web-portal of using public funds. It allows any citizen to see the allocation of budget funds, allows journalists to uncover facts of corruption during their investigations - from the lowest and up to the highest levels. The MFSI-II specialists have just completed a series of trainings on the functionalities of the Web-portal for spending units.
   Wrapping up the Forum proceedings, representatives of the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Infrastructure, Ministry of Justice, and the  Ministry of Economic Development and Trade have all  reaffirmed their intent to implement online systems in their respective ministries as efficiently as possible.
