A Fair of Citizens’ Projects Held in Capital City Hall

A fair of citizens’ projects was held at the Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA) on 11 January. More than 70 authors presented their ideas on improving life in the capital city for its residents.

Oleksandr Korin’, deputy head of KCSA’s Finance Department inaugurated the event. He reminded that voting for the projects, which take part in implementation of participatory budgeting in Kyiv started on 27 December and would continue until January 29. The projects to gain the most votes within the amount of UAH 50 million will be implemented at the expense of city budget this year. Vyacheslav Zubenko, director general of the Institute for Budgetary and Socio-Economic Research underlined that implementation of participatory budgeting in Kyiv and 14 other cities by providing the Citizens’ Project electronic system has become possible thanks to financing by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

Ihor Beletii, the Kyiv blogger and marketing consultant conducted his master class for project authors to present the top tools of online marketing. This advice will help the authors to promote their ideas among capital city’s residents and win their votes to support their projects. Also, the fair visitors had an opportunity to vote for the five ideas they liked best on the spot.
