Work on Ensuring Transparency of Local Budgets and Implementing Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative in Ukraine

The Municipal Finance Strengthening Initiative (MFSI-II) Roll-out project has signed agreements with five Ukrainian NGOs selected on a competitive basis to assist in the implementation of Participatory Budgeting at the local level and Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) in Ukraine. On March 18th, the representatives of NGOs took part in the training Basic Procedures’ Improvement According to Donor’s Terms of Cooperation organized by the USAID's Financial Management Capacity Development Initiative and conducted by Ernst&Young specialists.
This training has become an important pre-requisite for NGOs to work properly and effectively on EITI implementation in Ukraine.
Among other things, the participants considered the guidelines for organization of operations, personnel and finance management, and discussed Donor's requirements for monitoring and onsite inspections.
