A Press Conference at Glavred Media
A press conference Budget 2010: Optimal Structure and Prospects for Approval was held at the offices of the Glavred Media Holding on 23 November 2009.
The press conference participants included:
- Iryna Shcherbyna, Director General of the Institute for Budgetary and Socio-Economic Research;
- Viktor Lysytskyi, Member of the Entrepreneurs’ Council under the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine;
- Andriy Novak, author of the book Yak pidnyaty ukrainsku ekonomiku (How to rouse the Ukrainian economy?).

As has become customary for Ukraine, the year end is characterized by fierce debates 
around the draft State budget for the next year and numerous and usually failed attempts to pass the same.
The present situation is not an exception, however, it is also unique in that this year, the budgeting process coincides with the election campaign.
Is this good or bad? What are the most important things to be provided for in the main financial document? Which of the budget amendments suggested by MPs must be included and which rejected?
These and other questions were discussed with the above experts at the press conference.
