Press Conference on Draft State Budget 2012: First Evaluations with Obozrevatel Media Holding
A press conference on the topic “Draft State Budget 2012: First Evaluations” was held at the Obozrevatel First Information Portal office on 22 September 2011.
The press conference was held by Iryna Shcherbyna, Director of the Institute for Budgetary and Socio-Economic Research, Cand.Sc. (Economics), and Viktor Suslov, a financial expert and Merited Economist of Ukraine.
The experts discussed topical issues related to the draft State budget for the year 2012 as recently presented by the Cabinet of Ministers. On the whole, the experts’ opinion is that the budget is realistic and deserves to be approved by the Verkhovna Rada in the proposed version.
“In the current economic environment, this is an absolutely balanced budget, which can surely be used as a basis with certain amendments between the first and the second readings,” Ms. Shcherbyna said.
