Regional Trainings on PPB Implementation at the Level of Local Budgets

   The MFSI-II Project has delivered a series of regional trainings on implementing the Performance Program Budgeting method of planning and execution of local budgets. In January through March 2012, trainings on local-level PPB implementation were conducted in Kyiv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Volyn, Sumy, Kirovohrad, Odesa, Vinnytsya, Zakarpatska, Poltava, and Kharkiv oblasts.
   Participants included the PPB implementation coordinators from each region and specialists of the structural units of Finance Directorate in charge of formulating departmental indicators for their respective budgets. All in all, more than 1,400 local government specialists passed through this training in Q1 2012.  By the end of the first six months of the year, this training will have been delivered in all oblast centers for specialists of each of the regions that joined the experience in 2012.
    This training series is the logical continuation of Phase II of the experiment on implementing PPB implementation for local budgets.
