USAID’s House-Warming Party

A festive occasion was celebrated on 2 October 2012: a house-warming party of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), which will from now on be located in the compound of the U.S. Embassy to Ukraine.
The ceremony was inaugurated by USAID Mission Director Jed Barton. Other participants of this festive event included Head of the Kyiv City State Administration Oleksandr Popov, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Rayisa Bohatyryova, and Advisor to the President of Ukraine Maryna Stavniychuk, who made welcome speeches and expressed their gratitude for the fruitful cooperation between Ukraine and USAID. Diplomats from various countries, representatives of international NGOs, and prominent members of the academic community congratulated the U.S. Agency for International Development on the official opening of its new office and on 20 years in Ukraine.
Visitors had an opportunity to learn about activities of each of the projects, as an information fair of USAID projects was held as part of the event. The Municipal Finance Strengthening Initiative Project Roll-out for Ukraine (MFSI-II) presented the publications it prepares as part of the Project with support from USAID.
