Implementation of Energy Saving Project in Horlivka
The Modernization of Street Lighting in the City of Horlivka project will be implemented in this city. MFSI-II experts have assisted the city in preparing all the documents required to obtain a borrowing approval from the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine.
This collaboration has resulted in signing of a credit agreement between the City of Horlivka and the Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (NEFCO) under which the city gets a credit for implementing the Modernization of Street Lighting in the City of Horlivka project. This project will involve replacement of 1100 incandescent lamps currently used for street lighting in the city with high-pressure sodium lamps. Such lamps combine higher luminosity with lower energy consumption.
It is expected that the project will help the city achieve environmental and economic benefits. In particular, the municipality is estimated to save 544MW of electric energy per year and cut CO2 emissions by 436 tonnes per year.
