A Roundtable Meeting in Berehove, Zakarpatska Oblast

A roundtable meeting on the topic City Budget Formation Based on Performance Program Budgeting and Results of Its Implementation was held in Berehove, Zakarpatska oblast, on 7 August 2013, with support from the MFSI-II Project. The roundtable participants included City Council members, key spending units of municipal budget, representatives of nongovernmental organizations, MFSI-II experts, and members of the press.
The meeting highlighted the results of execution of PPB-based city budget and discussed the benefits from formation of the city budget based on Performance Program Budgeting. Special focus was made on the analysis of performance of the municipal utilities in the framework of the Performance Program Budgeting method. This made it possible to study the achievements in the municipal property management in the city, as well as identify the potential and further areas for development of municipal infrastructure and services.
This public event has resulted in familiarizing the participants with the status of implementing the modern methodology of efficient use of budget funds in the city of Berehove and developing the proposals, which will need to be taken into account when preparing the 2014 budget, in particular, for improving the efficiency of city's municipal property management.
