Comfortable Microclimate and Quality Lighting in Educational Institutions of Chernihiv
Thanks to the support provided by the Municipal Finance Strengthening Initiative Roll-out (MFSI-II) Project, on 28 August 2013, the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine approved the borrowing terms for the City of Chernihiv for implementing its Improving the Energy Efficiency in Buildings of Chernihiv Educational Institutions project.
The main goal of the project is a set of measures to realize the potential for energy saving in seven educational institutions.
Implementation of the project will:
– reduce the consumption of both heat and electric energy;
– create optimal conditions of heat comfort for children’s learning in educational institutions; and
– improve the lighting level in city’s educational institutions.
The project will have a significant environmental impact, in particular, it will cut CO2 emission by 212.42 tonnes/year and save 1,051,550 kWh of heat energy per year.
A successful implementation of the Improving the Energy Efficiency in Buildings of Chernihiv Educational Institutions project will help improve the well-being of students of general educational institutions, which will have a beneficial effect on the completeness and quality of their education.
