The City of Berdychiv Will be More Comfortable for Living Thanks to MFSI-II

The City of Berdychiv has obtained approval from the Ministry of Finance for an important energy savings project loan. The ministry approved the amount and terms of the loan for the Overhauling the Street Lighting in the City of Berdychiv investment project, which will help the city achieve significant savings of electricity. The approval is a strong result of the cooperation between the municipality and the Municipal Finance Strengthening Initiative (MFSI-II) Roll-out Project and the city of Berdychiv.
The project involves the replacement of 500 existing lights currently using 150Wincandescent bulbs with 50W LED lights, and the replacement of 1250 150W-incandescent bulbs with 45W LED lights, as well as the installation of nine autonomous LED lights in locations remote from the power grid.
After all the project activities are completed, the electricity savings will amount to 646.7MW/year, and total CO2 emissions will be reduced by 517.4 tones per year.
The successful implementation of the Overhauling the Street Lighting in the City of Berdychiv project will also save UAH 577,700 of budget funds annually, while simultaneously and significantly increasing the level of illumination of motor roads as well aside walks and adjacent territories, which will improve comfort for both motorists and pedestrians.
