16 September 2016
On 16 September, experts of the USAID Municipal Finance Strengthening Initiative (MFSI-II) Roll-out Project took part in a roundtable devoted to the first anniversary of operation of the E-Data web portal, which is the largest open database of public finance in Ukraine. The event was held at the Ukrainian Crisis Media Center.
Today, the web portal contains over 30 million transactions of the State Treasury and more than 9 million contracts, acts, and reports of budget spending units. Over this past year, the MFSI-II experts have taught 4,230 spending units of public funds in how to use the web portal.
Oleksandr Schelokov, the E-Data project leader, has underlined an important contribution made by experts of the MFSI-II Project to the process of training of budget process participants in how to work with the E-Data web portal. Notably, the number of E-Data website users has grown considerably after the delivered trainings. In turn, this helped to improve the transparency and openness of the process of public spending.
