Ternopil Residents Join the Participatory Budget
27 September 2016
Starting on 1 October, residents of the city of Ternopil will be able to submit and select projects for the distribution of 1% of their municipal budget. Implementation of the projects is scheduled already in 2017.
The Citizens’ Project system donated to the city by the USAID Municipal Finance Strengthening Initiative (MFSI-II) Roll-out Project will make it possible for Ternopil residents to easily submit their projects for funding from the Citizens’ Budget and vote for them in a transparent manner.
The Nominating Committee will only review projects with regard to their compliance with the terms and conditions of the Ternopil Citizens’ Budget Charter and will organize the process of its implementation. The projects themselves, which will be funded within the specified amount, will be selected directly by Ternopil citizens. The voting will be conducted using two methods: Via website with the BankID identification system or by actual voting.
Ternopil is one of the 14 cities provided with the Citizens’ Project system for implementation of Participatory Budget.
