Coordinating meetings and trainings are launched

Regional coordinating meetings and PPB trainings for new budgets are launched

     The MFSI Project and the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine launched a series of regional coordinating meetings and trainings for new participants in the experiment implementing PPB at the local level. The first events were held in Luhansk on 1 through 3 March 2011.

     On 1 March 2011, the Ministry of Finance held a coordinating meeting with the leadership of the Luhansk Oblast State Administration and the administrations creating the experiment’s pilot budgets. The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Oblast State Administration, Principal Directorate of the State Treasury Service of Ukraine, mayors, heads of district State administrations, and heads of respective finance directorates.

     Later in the day, the Ministry of Finance held a seminar on the issues of PPB implementation at the local level with the representatives of key spending units drawing funding from the Oblast budget, the Principal Finance Directorate, and Principal Directorate of the State Treasury Service of Ukraine in Luhansk Oblast.

On 2 and 3 March 2011, the MFSI project experts delivered trainings on instructive materials for implementing the Performance Program Budget method for the current experiment participants in Luhansk Oblast (cities of Luhansk, Alchevsk, Rovenky, and Krasnodon), for the representatives of respective directorates of the State Treasury Service of Ukraine, finance directorates, and line directorates/departments.

    Next similar events were held in Lviv on 11-12 March, 2011.

    On 11 March 2011 there was held a coordinating meeting of the Ministry of Finance with the leadership of Lviv Oblast State Administration and the administrations creating the experiment’s pilot budgets. The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Oblast State Administration, Principal Directorate of the State Treasury Service of Ukraine, mayors, heads of district State administrations, and heads of respective finance directorates. Totally – 36 participants.

   Next day, on 12 March 2011, the Ministry of Finance held a seminar on the issues of PPB implementation at the local level with 32 representatives of key spending units drawing funding from the Oblast budget, the Principal Finance Directorate, and Principal Directorate of the State Treasury Service of Ukraine in Lviv Oblast.
